14 August - Kryolan turns 80. Still family-owned.
What started with a dream in a post-war Berlin lab is now a global name - still true to its soul. Led by Arnold Langer’s son Wolfram and grandsons Sebastian and Dominik, we continue to put artists first.

This decade, we didn’t just grow - we connected.
We opened more Kryolan City stores - in Paris, London, São Paulo, Johannesburg, Milano, Chennai, Mumbai and more.
We brought our message to life: Make-up Is a Science.
We launched the Kryolan PRO CARD to say thank you to our loyal professionals. We introduced Digital Complexion - innovative make-up for Ultra-HD and beyond. We gave Dermacolor a new voice: Your skin. Your choice. We stood up for sustainability, with solar energy, green buildings, and conscious packaging.

Faces Across Cultures
We traveled the world, but we listened first.
Artists told us what they needed - we made it happen.
We launched HD Make-up, Dermacolor Light, and Private Care.
We brought the Global Face Art symposium to Berlin, Dubai, and beyond. We planted roots in Chennai, our growing hub in India. In Szczecin, our Polish team expanded production with heart and pride. We opened our first store in São Paulo, giving Brazil a stage.
In San Francisco, we built a new Kryolan USA facility - bigger, better, bolder. We painted stars for the Bambi Awards and TV legends on Face Off.
This was a decade of color, culture, and connection.
Breaking New Ground
We opened new homes in London and Poland.
We stepped into Latin America with bold and trusted partners.
In Berlin and Brandenburg, our warehouses grew to match our dreams. In 2004, Kryolan make-up lit up the stage at the Athens Olympic Games.
Everything we built, we built with trust.

Make-up with Purpose
We created Dermacolor. Make-up not just for beauty, but for all skin conditions. We crossed oceans, opening our first US office in Van Nuys. Later, we moved to San Francisco, closer to Hollywood’s heartbeat. We built lasting partnerships across Asia, South Africa, and South America. We said yes to new formulas, bold pigments, and innovation led by artists.
It was never just business - it was a mission.
From Berlin to the World
We acquired Brändel GmbH, strengthening our foundation.
We moved into our headquarters on Papierstrasse - still our home today. We started exporting to the United States. We listened to the needs of performers, and we answered with products made by hand and by heart.
This was a time when Kryolan became more than a brand. It became a belief.
Where It All Began
It started in Berlin, just after the war.
Arnold Langer - Chemist, Theater Lover, Visionary - had an idea.
In a small lab, he mixed creams and colors to bring theater back to life. On August 14, 1945, Kryolan was born. We delivered our first products to the reopened stages of Berlin.
In 1947, we expanded to East Berlin. In 1950, the East Berlin branch became "Coloran".
Even in difficult times, we stood for creativity, resilience, and the power of make-up.
